It seems the mayor of Nashville, John Cooper, is fighting hard to earn a top place in the list of most tyrannical mayors of America in the race to seize freedom in the name of COVID.
Mayor Cooper is taking big strides to keep up with the likes of NYC’s Bill DeBlasio and Los Angeles’ Eric Garcetti by now seeking power to develop his own brown shirt brigade. Cooper wants to grant power to any city employee to issue citations for non compliance with his mask mandate and other emergency orders that include burdensome restrictions on businesses.

The Nashville city council is considering two pieces of legislation which will go to final approval on September 15 that would broaden enforcement ability in certain Metro departments that already have permitting power, and another that would extend citation authority to any city employee.
Allowing the mayor to tap other employees to serve as the “eyes and ears” across the city will allow Metro to more effectively enforce health orders as more businesses open back up, said Mike Jameson, Cooper’s senior legislative affairs director.
Please don’t forget that this is the same mayor that passed a 34% property tax increase on Nashville property owners at the same time his emergency orders for COVID were keeping businesses closed or operating at limited capacity.
