President Donald Trump outlined a 3-phase plan for governors across the country to reopen the country for business at a press conference held on April 16.
Trump was enthusiastic throughout the announcement which aligns with reports from many behind the scenes who have said Trump is pressing hard to get the economy restarted so people can get back to work, and to life.
During the press conference, Trump said: “We’re starting our life again” and “we’re starting rejuvenation of our economy again.”
Members of the health community, including Dr. Fauci, have already begun to pour water on the idea of opening up America. They argue that life will never be the same and that we could experience a spike in cases or deaths upon reopening.
Meanwhile, Governors in certain regions are banding together to formulate their own reopening plans. In some areas, governors have floated extending the date of lockdowns into the summer, well beyond a two-week or thirty day assessment period. The Los Angeles Mayor has suggested there may be rolling lockdowns for months to come.
